Join us for this closing webinar of the FONTAGRO project: Root to Food, executed by the Javeriana University, the Corporation for Participatory and Sustainable Development of Small Rural Producers (PBA) – Colombia, and the Major University of San Simón (UMSS), in collaboration with the Autonomous Municipal Government of Sacaba – Bolivia, and cooperatives of farmers and producers from both countries.
This innovative project addressed the challenges in the production of Andean tubers, such as potatoes and cube, which are vital for food security in Bolivia and Colombia.
Through the development of participatory technologies and sustainable management practices, it achieved:
– Improvement in yields and seed quality of these crops.
– Strengthening the economy of family agricultural production units.
– Implementation of effective strategies for pest and disease management.
– Promotion of the conservation of native varieties.
The results and learnings from the project will be documented during this webinar, where we will share success stories and future strategies to continue supporting small farmers. It will take place on February 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM (EST, Washington DC).
